Thanks Bob, that was quick!

Like this Fiona , they are part of the scene like or loath them . I really do like how you have painted this wild scene.

This is great, Fiona. Love the limited colour palette.

You certainly have a sense of movement here Fiona, and I agree these big beasts are ok so long as not too many of them marching our way! Incidentally I saw a photo of a newer style pylon recently which was less complex and definitely better to look at! Love the reduced and refined colour as ever.

Great title, very apt. The wires help define the sweep of the land. Really good Fiona.

I love this, especially the colours are beautiful.

It’s a really good one Fiona, I like how it’s been painted with energetic brush strokes…energetic but not slap dash! As if… and, I like the composition with the lone pylon, a sentinel indeed…

Wonderful Fiona.

Somehow the pylon looks delicate with its wires running from side to side. I really like the restricted palette Fiona. You’ve dealt with this very well, making something special and unusual.

I just see a good painting of today's environ. .

They do look amazing on a foggy morning when the sun brakes through here and there. Giants crossing the landscape. Your painting has captured the rugged industrial landscape we live in.

Love this Fiona - great sense of a windswept landscape, lovely colours - and the delicately drawn pylon is an interesting focal point.

Oh, this is really good Fiona, would hang it on my wall anytime

Wonderful mark making and very atmospheric. Spooky that I have just posted one called Sentinels! X

So well painted Fiona. Very brave thing to paint Pylons.

Very well captured Fiona. Full of electric atmosphere.

Skilfully done, Fiona - very dramatic with wild weather!

I love the limited palette, Fiona. I find it quite powerful (pardon the pun).

My thanks to everyone for your observations, complements and witty responses……always very much appreciated. Marjorie I like your description, I’m becoming rather fond of it! I wanted to paint it again earlier, the dark blue, stormy sky was behind it but the light was catching the pylon itself. It’s in my head, I’ll remember it for another time perhaps.

Fabulous Fiona, wild and wonderful.

Really good, Fiona. Pylons can be a thing of beauty.

Thank you Carole. I think so too Tim, thank you for your comment.

Great composition and excellent brushwork Fiona - A fab work of art.

Thank you very much Shaun!

There is beauty all around us. I really like this Fiona, and such a fitting title too.

This has such immediacy, movement and atmosphere. It's stunning, Fiona!

I agree Fiona, thank you for your positive comment. Seok, you are very kind, thank you.

I missed this one too Fiona, such atmosphere! It's great.

Thanks again Karen!

Wild and wonderful

Thank you David….are you back?

17”x11” pastel and chinagraph on Strathmore paper. Perched on the ridge of the vale where I live, stands this sculpture….some hate them, I don’t mind them, in isolation. But when they are set against a moving and ever changing sky of greys, it looked magnificent, dwarfing the wind blown trees.
