Tim Bettesworth

Biography

I have been painting on and off since the age of seventeen. When I retired in 2012, my daughters persuaded me to enroll in art classes and I resumed painting in watercolour, gouache and pastel in 2014. More recently acrylic, ink, chalk and charcoal. Since then I have dabbled in landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes and portraits. I would describe my style as impressionist and loose. In my opinion, realism is for photographers. I am loving Painters online, in particular the interaction with fellow artists and I continue to learn so much on my journey and welcome all the constructive comments that I receive. Up to now, I have only checked out the gallery when posting new art. So my New Year’s resolution is to regularly view and comment on the myriad of amazing artwork posted on this gallery.
