I think this is lovely Fiona, greens look very natural, love your skies.

lovely work Fiona

Despite your doubts, Fiona, it looks good to me.

You should do your own thing Fiona, you don’t need to copy (but you already know that!). Far too much foreground, but nothing wrong with the greens.

I like the greens, Fiona, and the grasses in the foreground (although it somehow lacks the liveliness of your usual work!)

A nice painting ,but not you Fiona.

Good washes Fiona but lacks the vitality of your usual work.

I think you are being too hard on yourself Fiona, I think it's a lovely soft watercolor, not your usual style but still a really good job 😀

Thanks very much everyone for your generous comments, very much appreciated. Alan, I didn’t do it to copy as such, I commented on a pastel painting and mentioned it would look good in watercolour....I was invited to have a go. But yes, I followed the example and as a result ended up with a tight painting. As I said that’s why I can’t copy, it turns out rubbish! Thank you for your input darling. I’ll be returning to my usual scruffiness. Thanks again everyone. X

I was being deliberately nasty dear, my favourite pastime as you know! It’s fine actually, I know you weren’t copying.

Alan, you nasty? I don’t believe it darling! You’re a sweet little teddy bear.....x

Watercolour on Waterford . Stephen invited me to have a go at his pastel of the above title in watercolour which I accepted. Not keen on the result, don’t normally do greens, I don’t have Stephens gift with greens! It’s too tight and too fiddly for me which is a reason I can’t copy.
