I've just been thinking about getting my watercolours out again and this is certainly inspiring! It's lovely Fiona - I love the colours and the loose feel.

I like this one Fiona! Your normal and recognisable palette, some excellent mark making and great to see you’ve cut down on all those foreground grasses that we used to see!

Lovely Fiona.

Don't you just love it Fiona when it all comes together! And this certainly does effortlessly.

I like the Beautifully subtle shades with the strikingly bold foreground plants. well done.

Love this Fiona, and oh yes, I've seen so many of these in Galloway forest, great scenes for painting.

A beautiful painting Fiona love the looseness of it . Your choice of colours is excellent, those few reddish colours add so much without overdoing it.

This has a beautiful, magical feeling, Fiona - lovely!

Really like this Fiona.

It may be loose, but it's very effective.

Thank you very much, Sarah, Alan, Emma, Chris, Willie, Lesley, Paul, Caroline, Anne, Heather, karen and Lewis for your encouraging comments, I’m very grateful. Lovely to see your presence on the site again Lewis.

This is really lovely Fiona and very much "you".

This is great, Fiona.

Lovely colours, Fiona!

This is so lovely and I like the looseness of it and the colours

Your "loose" style is so effective with your dark trees / branches and choice of colours. Am envious !!

Nice watercolour Fiona

Very nice Fiona, another excellent watercolour lovely tones and palette.

Love the freedom of your brushstrokes Fiona and the natural way you use water in your work. Great stuff Fiona.

Beautiful Fiona, has an enchanted feel about it.

Carol, Mia, Jenny, Anne, Richard, David, Carole, David, Denise many thanks for your kind and generous comments.

I like the low key gentle palette, Fiona. It makes it a peaceful scene, and easy on the eye. Nice one!

Yup , the girl done good again.

Love the colours and loose style

Beautiful in its simplicity. It’s hard to portray a sense of place, the spirit of somewhere without getting bogged down in ruinous detail, you’ve achieved it marvellously well.

Love the looseness of this Fiona, you do this so well!

Thank you so much, Anne, Sylvia, Romila, Jacqueline and Katy for taking the time to look and comment….you’re all very kind, thank you.

Lovely painting Fiona. Lovely brush strokes and flicks of colour all works well

Yes, very nice, I can imagine being there. Interesting palette, it's made me think, which is a good thing x

Such good colour and confident brush strokes Fiona. Well done!

Faye, Diane, Louise….thank you ladies! X

Hi Louise, it’s lovely to see your name on the gallery again, I hope you will be giving your girls a brush down. Have you managed a trip to see your granddaughter?

Loving this, you have a great eye for composition and colour. Love the texture you have created too.

Thanks Fiona. Yes, we had the lovely little girl at our house for a few weeks visit with her Mum and Dad! Then we all went down to London to see my other daughter and family for a week which is partly why I haven't had any time to paint. It was lovely to all get together after ages. They're back in Seville now. Now I have no excuse not to get out the paints except that the sun has finally come out here and the garden beckons!

Many thanks Rachel.

That’s wonderful Louise, I bet it has breathed new life in to all of you. That will keep you topped up until you can visit Seville.

Lovely colours, delicate but bold!

Thank you very much Dympna.

Nice work Fiona, like the palette and very free and loose.👍😉

Many thanks William….hope you and your wife are okay.

12”x12” watercolour in sketchbook. Lots of these small hidden pools amongst the trees in Carsegowan wood. Perfect subject for loose painting!
