Good use of negative space and lovely rendition of shapes, Paul.

A good one, Paul!!

Many thanks Seok and David for your comments they are always appreciated.

Beautiful Paul, reminds of a holiday a few years ago on Islay when we had a memorable encounter with a barn owl at dusk.

Wonderful birds. This is beautifully drawn Dixie, the pose just right.

Lovely barn owl Paul 🦉

Barni BarnOwl. Nice .

Val, Anne, Lew, Faye, Heather and Sylvia thank you for your very kind comments. They are beautiful creatures I think barn owl in particular are the most photogenic of the owls , my favourite is the tawny owl only because I reared on that was lost , it stayed with me for six month then decided to leave home.

I really like the way you have painted the barn owl by using negative space.

Thank you David , it felt the right way to paint it.

Another lovely watercolour Dixie. I love the subtle background.

Thank you Mark for taking the time to look and comment it’s appreciated.

This is a lovely watercolour Paul.

Thanks Denise for your kind comment.

This is fab Paul. Agree with Lewis. Great pose. I also like the subtle forest.😀

Pauline and Spencer thank you for your kind comments they are appreciated a lot.

Great movement Paul in this lovely owl, the background is good too x

I like the way you have painted this , lovely soft colours.

Thank you Valerie, I was hoping the light colours showed the softness of the owl as their colouring is almost translucent.

A4 watercolour on Bockingford paper. Tyto alba : barn owl in the early evening quartering the ground looking for dinner. A imaginary scene but a very common one, used a photo taken at Smalldean farm where the NT Ranger store there equipment. There is a nest box in the 300 year old barn that is monitored with a camera linked to a pc. Parents often seen in the early morning and evenings in the timber yard or field margined.
