Fabulous tree Paul with all its sinuous branches.

That tree looks how I feel today - old and gnarly! Well done.

You've painted this tree beautifully, scars and all. I'd love to know what it has seen and heard in its long life.

I feel the same way about trees and love painting the ancient ones particularly too. Fab depiction Dixie

Thank you all for the very kind comments.

You've not only captured the solidity, character and age, here, but how that tree could tell a thousand stories.

Thanks Gerry I appreciate your comment.

This is lovely, Dixie, and the write-up to go with it.

A4 watercolour in A3 mount , old tree dying off but retaining it’s beauty in a different way . These old trees are so important to the landscape, not only aesthetically but the environment they provide for more wildlife then when in full bloom and life . They also release the trapped nutrients, minerals, and fibre back into the soil that created them . Just love trees but these old ones I have quite a passion for .
