Apologies I did a rubbish job of cropping the photo .

A lovely picture with far-reaching vista, Paul - like those rocks too!

Well painted paul.

I love this one, great sense of distance in the background!

Sometimes we just need to paint/draw without any rhyme or reason, just because we can! our moods can affect what we choose to do, this one makes me think of standing looking out at nature’s gift with a sense of peace. A lovely job.

Very nice piece, good rocks and tree and a nice composition with the fading fields in the distance.

These tors make great subjects. Nice work Paul.

A lovely gem of a painting with a great sense of distance Paul.

and very nice it is too

Lovely painting Paul.

Lovely distant views - my favourite place to relax

Think you all for your very kind comments I appreciate them .

Those orange and greens are so good together Paul…a very presentable piece of artwork!

Thank you Alan I appreciate you comments. I agree the orange colour goes well but it’s only emulating nature , Mother Nature knows better than I what goes together we should only try to copy what she shows use . My only advice would be to not try to make it a exact photocopy, cameras do that for use , keep it looking like a painting.

A proper Dartmoor scene with lovely, craggy rocks And vast open moors behind them.

It looks fabulous Paul, really feels like somewhere on the moods, those rocks and pastures far out, looks great!

miss-spelling... really looks like somewhere on the Moors, those rocks and pastures far out, looks great Paul!

Thank you Sarah and Angela for your comments , quite and appreciate misspellings Angela as the moors are very moody all year round. My experience of then is winter exercise’s when I was on the military, cold wet and miserable but beautiful when there was no mist and you could see .

Lots of space and ruggedness Paul. Ancient landscape beautifully painted.

Like a lot Paul.

Lovely Paul, love the rocky outcrop.

A lovely outcome to your experimenting, Dixie. On times this enjoyment turns out to be the best work as we don't worry about the result.

Fiona, Sylvia, Carole and Carol thank you for your kind comments, I agree Carol we tend to let things develop there own way rather than conforming to a particular pattern.

Something a bit different is always good - break free from those surly bonds!

Great work Paul. Love the simplicity of it.

Sunil thank you for your kind comment.

A4 in A3 mount watercolour painting of a Tor on Dartmoor, inspired by several online photos . I painted this scene simply because I liked it and wanted to experiment and mess around with different brushes and techniques. Nothing out of the ordinary just waning to do something a bit different.

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
