Love the colours you have used, Paul. Good reflections!

I’m sure he’s not turning in his grave Paul😆! This is very clean and fresh looking with very effective reflections. I see you are still a fan of the linen.

Thank you David and Marjorie for you kind comments, I’m getting to like it more ever time I use it Marjorie fortunately I have bought several pads for future use .

Lovely trees and colours Paul.

Dixie! You paint like ‘you’ and that’s what contributing to art means! 👏🏼

An excellent painting Dixie. Love the autumnal colours.

It’s really good Paul, strikingly good colours with a positive approach!

Very good reflections and colours, Paul. Also like the variety of tree shapes - like living sculptures!

Christine, John, Spencer, Mark, Alan and Anne thank you for your kind comments. I’m trying to be a bit bolder with the colours Alan, I think it works for some subjects . Anne I do tend to look at the shapes of trees it not just the blossom, leave etc that make the look do good , living sculptures is a excellent way to describe them.

Maybe you're not Peter Mork Monsted - but then: who is? - but you're a watercolourist, not an oil painter. I've not seen any watercolours by Monsted: wonder if they exist... Anyway, I am liking these stronger colours you're using now - and the soft greys you used in a recent painting of w/colour on canvas. Onwards and upwards, never resting where we lodge!

Good one Paul

Robert many thanks for your very kind comments I do value and appreciate them .

A4 watercolour on canvas painted for the October challenge. I cannot paint like Peder Mork Monsted who is one of the artist that inspires me , his trees , snow and still water with reflections are so good you feel you van touch them . I’ve taken a scene from a very old photo given by a friend and needed to guess parts of it as it is so faded. It a Monsted type scene done my way hope he’s not turning over in his grave .

About the Artist
Paul (Dixie) Dean

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
