Wind blown poppies

Comments

My favourite poppy is the one which is bottom left. It looks so papery and fragile. Lovely painting, Paul.

Your colourful and delicate poppies really look windblown, Paul - lovely!

Excellent watercolour Paul. Really like the falling petals.

Very well captured Paul, beautifully done.

Beautiful poppies Paul, perfect for me today as my grandad was K I A in Damascus 80 years ago Love the fragility that you portray

Super and you've definitely captured movement

Lovely.

This is lovely Dixie. You have indeed captured the movement and those few falling petals in the breeze.

Delicately painted. Well done.

Superb! I love paintings of poppies and this is a good one!!

Wow what a response, I really was not expecting so many positive comments thank you all so very much . I too love poppies my favourite is the wild poppy we see in the fields and hedge row, always tinged with a bit of sadness due to what they stand for. Carolyn it’s alway good to remember those we have lost particularly those in action .

Delicate and effective.

Well done; I do love a poppy!

24x32 cm 200gsm watercolour paper. Used photos and sketching in the garden during a strong wind for reference. I was able to see the poppies as I was painting so made some tweaks as I went along. Thank you Fiona for the initial inspiration to photo and paint them, I was trying to capture the falling petals and the damaged done .
