Another good one, Paul! Your "accident" has done no harm to the painting!!!

I was just going to say the same as David! I also thought it was an oil!

Definitely a happy accident that one mate, the mist/fog effect works really well!

This has turned out wonderfully well after your "happy accident", Paul - it's super!

Love the colours in this.!

Looks very effective Paul.

After the mishap this has turned out so well Paul.

Makes a very good painting Paul.

Thank all for your very kind comments , I’m warming to it now but was really unsure about how it looked as all I could see was the painting I originally wanted.

A very effective misty look Dixie, accident or not! Works well.

It's really lovely Paul. Very atmospheric.

Memories….

Thank you so much Tessa , Sarah and Sylvia. I do hope they are lovely memories Sylvia, maybe I could change the name to Sylvia trips down the Mersey .

What a success Paul! Love the effect, try it again?

Thanks Fiona, I think it’s something I will use again as it seems to be very effective. Sometimes we think of thing in desperation and they are more successful than we could have imagined, normally I would be worried about the result , nothing to loose I thought and gained more.

Nice effect Paul😊

Excellent work Paul.

After the happy accident you have got a super atmospheric painting the use of pastel over the picture is the icing on the cake well done!

Happy accident - very good effect Paul.

I like the misty effect you’ve achieved Paul.

Gloriously misty Paul

A happy accident but worked out well!

The misty effect has worked well Paul.

Great misty effect Paul.

Diane and Sandra thank you for you kind comments, I really pleased with the outcome now that I’ve got over the frustration . I will use the same technique again but without dropping the pallet on the painting first.

It's turned out so well Paul, love the colours and the atmosphere

A4 watercolour in A3 mount , I stared this a few days ago and it’s one of my between other paintings as I like to have a couple on the go . I originally planned for it to be an early evening setting with the buildings in the background as dark images, just as I was putting the final details on the tug and ferry I had a bit of a disaster. I inadvertently pick up the pallet with the wrong and pop upside down on the painting cleaned most off . Used a white pastel rubbed over to get the mist effect.
