Many memories. Clever detail Paul.

Wow, to have achieved this with the issues with your hands is amazing (hope things improve soon). I remember the coal man too. Happy days.

Brings back lots of memories - a lovely painting!!

A wonderful watercolour Paul, a lovely nostalgic piece.

Many thanks Sylvia, Heather , Davis and Denise for your vey kind comments. Thanks Heather I’m sure it will be back to normal soon, probably heal quicker if it rested it , but that’s so boring.

Love this "slice of life" piece. Loads of ambience and character captured in this piece.

Another memory from the past kept alive by your fabulous work.

That's excellent and very nostalgic, love the old truck. I remember the coal man well. In one house we had a coal-shute (or coal-hole), he 'd empty the sacks down that...it would end up in a cupboard in the cellar. Coal dust everywhere. But 'normal' back then.

Thank you Seok, Chris, and Lew for your kind comments. Your right Lew it was dirty and messy but there was not much choice . I remember the smell of the coal as much as the dust and helping clean out the ash , luckily we had metal bins back then as the odd hot ash got in.

Yes I remember the coal man coming. Lovely painting brings back memories Paul.

Well done Paul- remember the coal man well from my childhood!

Thank you Carole and Christine for your comment , hope fully your memories were fond ones . I like it when a painting triggers memories for me and hopefully other enjoy them too . I do believe that paintings do should tell a story or enable the viewer to make a story .

Lots of memories here Paul…..it was my job as a youngster to count the bags going in the coal house.

Yes Fiona, I was told to do that, it wasn’t unusual to for him to miss count that is one less for us! 🤨

Yes I remember the coal man as well, takes me back to childhood Dixie. The lorry is very good also.

Thank you Fiona, Carole and Tessa for your kind comments.

Fantastic work, Paul. Well done to your left hand!

Thank you Ann your comment is appreciated.

A blast from the past Paul. Love your attention to detail and how you’ve made the coalman look as if he really is struggling. A great piece of nostalgia beautifully painted.

Many thanks Carole for you kind comment.

I like the way you have painted the van Paul.

Thank you David , I love old truck etc and enjoy painting them.

This is so well done, especially considering your right hand is not fully functional Paul. The painting certainly brings back memories for me of the coal shed in the back yard!

Thank you Diane for your kind comment it appreciated very much.

Watercolour painting of the coal man delivering . I’m responsible pleased with it as due to not having the full use of my right hand about seventy percent is down to my left hand or both . I used to love watching the coal man heave the sack and dump it , one of those pleasant childhood memories.
