A nice Scene, Paul!

There is something very pleasant about this scene. A lovely watercolour.

Good one Paul.

I really like this one Paul, great draughtsmanship on the boats.

well painted oicture

sorry for the mistake Paul..to much wine only joking. Well painted picture..

I like this very much, Dixie. The boat is beautifully drawn.

Thank you Regloh, Denise,Katy,Brian, Johnx2 and Lew for you very kind comments. I think as you all know and Lew has mentioned that it’s the initial drawing of the boat that makes the painting. The drawing out process is often undervalued .

Interesting old boat and painted so well.

Fabulous detail on the boat Paul. Really like the soft colours

Now Hilary has mentioned your lovely soft colours the penny has dropped, your palette reminds me so much of the work of the watercolorist Eric Ravilious.

Good one, Paul - I love the gulls

Very nice Dixie, it looks as if you really enjoyed painting this

Lovely picture, Paul - super boat!

Thank you all for your very kind comments. I have noticed of late that I have tended to paint in soft colours it’s not been an intentional process it just happened, a lot of the things I paint are retro I suspect that I’ve used subdued colours to reflect that ? . I alway enjoy painting ships and boats subject’s that I particularly like to paint .

Watercolour of fishing boat returning from early trip the boars are still pulled up by tractors or old bulldozers . There are still a few of the old traditional craft left. When you see them all together with old equipment it’s quite a sight some think eyesore. Adapted from a old b&w photo .
