Really lovely

Really great painting Paul, one of your best. It would be good to see some more animals. Whatever errors you are thinking of I do not see them.

Love it Dixie...really good. I like the colours, the elephants have that dusty look I associate with them.

Not the easiest Animal to paint and draw Paul but this is a lovely well painted composition.

Thank you Anne, John, Rikke, Lew and Chris for your comments they are appreciated. I’m pleased you see the dusty look Lew , I always imagine then covered in dust ad they use the sand etc as a sun blind to protect their delicate skin. Can’t imagine something so big having delicate skin but apparently the burn very easily in the sun. They take on the colours of the local soil and some varela seen looking very red due to the sand. So big yet so vulnerable. John I’m working on some more animal sketches and paintings as a challenge and a change .

Love the soft colours. A lovely painting of elephants.

This is great Paul and the title is fitting too especially as they have their trunks (smiley face)

Good one Paul, lovely family group x

23x32 cm watercolour of a family group of elephants on the grasslands. I did a painting of a single elephant that did not quite work out , decided to do more as practice and the go back and correct the original. I wanted to use muted colours so I used Payne’s grey, Gamboge, Purple and Royal Blue to form the combination of colours. Quite pleased with it despite a few errors etc.
