Very effective!!

Wonderful Diana, I wouldn’t know where to start on this one.

The queen of glass strikes again. Ace work Diana.

Most people head for he hotel breakfast table thinking of bacon and eggs. Not Diana with her artists eye! Superb as usual. 👏🏼

Unmistakably one of yours, Diana - like the limited palette (and congrats on the ASWA!)

Wow Diana, really good ... I think I'd have gone bananas doing this!

Wow! A single glass is difficult enough to replicate but 7+. Fantastic work Diana!

So good, I don't know how you have done this.

Thanks David. An exercise in observation!! Thanks Frank. I started with the tighter areas of the top of the central glass. I always like to start with a more controlled area. Ha , thanks Jim. I do keep being pulled back to the subject. Ha Thanks Tessa. The same thing happened in a restaurant yesterday. I’ll be working on more glasses tomorrow 😂 Thank you Jenny. It was the very limited palette that I particularly liked too. Thanks too for your congratulations. I’m very honoured to have been voted in. Thank you Heather. It certainly needed doing in short blasts 😂 Thank you Spencer. I loved all the shadows and reflections

Thanks Valerie. I see it as a jigsaw puzzle of colours. Observation of hard/ soft lines is the key I think. I was fascinating watching it become glasslike.

Beautifully painted Diana, excellent work.

Stunning Diana. You really have an eye for painting glasses!

I agree with you the limited palette is lovely , also it is interesting to hear what paper you used ,and can see it works very well .

Lovely detailed work!

Great tonal values and soft and hard edges Diana. So much to be learnt from this.

Thank you again Denise. I’m really encouraged by your lovely compliment. Thank you Christine. I really enjoy looking at glass I was at the theatre last night and my eyes zoomed in on the glasses behind the bar 😂

Thanks for your interest David. I have tried most papers and always return to my favourite. The painting experience feels completely different using a change of paper. Thank you Russell. I had to make myself focus on all the subtle variations of tone. Thank you Linda. I always appreciate your encouragement. Thanks again Paul. I appreciate your interest.

Thank you Collette. Lovely to hear from you. Thank you Faye. I really appreciate your ongoing interest in my work. Many thanks Carole. Those variations of line with the strong tonal contrasts give the glass texture and transparency.

Incredible!

Thank you Val. Your complimentary comment is so encouraging. Thank you Romila Glad you like it.

Half imperial watercolour of rows of glasses in hotel breakfast table. I love the limited palette and the reflections of the glasses behind each other. Painted on Saunders Waterford CP 300lb paper. I’ve enjoyed the mix of tight and lose work.
