Love your colours Alan.

I li,e this a lot Alan, the colours are superb. I never thought of using a larger sheet of paper and use the border for testing colour I normally have a separate sheet but then I suppose each sheet is slightly different.

Should read I Like at the start of the comment.

Beautiful touches of blue makes it a right beauty 💙

This is a belter Alan. Love the palette and the confident marks. Full of energy yet calm on the eye

Such a beautiful pastel painting Alan!

Thanks guys… just having a play around with various medium at the moment. I’ve had a long break from oils, but I have started an oil this morning - I feel fresh after laying off them for a few months!

Great work Alan The colors r superb

Love this Alan, it's a wonderful pastel.

Interesting composition Alan with the focal point in the distance- works well, and I like the style of your mark making leading us to the castle.

Just to let you know Alan, I've ordered a set of carbon pencils from Jacksons. Can't wait for them to come.

Excellent work Alan, I love the splash of red at the centre of the Painting (Drawing).

Luscious colours, that’s what it’s all about!

Has a lovely quality to it Alan

I like the strong linear feel to it, and the great intense colours, but they're still soft on the eye.

Almost autumnal Alan. What I like about your painting is, how it all slants to the right giving the feeling of the wind at play.

Lovely use of colour and mark making.

Very good, some nice textures in this.

Really super, Alan.

Gorgeous colours, caught my eye straight away. Pastels are a new departure for you??

Thanks again guys, appreciated! I’ve always worked in pastel Sandra, I just don’t do all that many!

Smashing palette, Alan, super painting altogether

A very striking painting Alan and I love the colour palette.

What energy in this Alan, lovely colours too.

I see a little nudge to Cezanne here Al and I don’t agree with your comment ref it being too red. It’s bold and rich with enough contrasting colours to set it apart.

Love the colours in this.

Just a perfectly balanced painting and the textures add so much life - great work Alan.

Beautiful Alan! I love the colours and marks -

I really like this; great composition, colours and marks Alan.

Beautiful colours on this.

A stunning work of art. Bravo !

Small landscape pastel drawing, the castle acting as my single focal point, having positioned it off centre on the horizon line. I’ve used a selection of van Gogh soft pastels and a few conte chalks. Stonehenge 250gsm Kraft paper, around A3 size although the actual sketch is much smaller. I hate being cramped for space when I’m drawing, I like to have a border to test out colours and so on…
