Love the mood of this, Alan. The touch of red draws the eye in.

Great feel to this piece Alan. Also like the lead into the landscape to those houses. It all works very welll. May be those very red house could come down a touch or two.

Lovely moody piece Alan, the light patch of water gives a good entrance to the scene.

Could sit with a nice glass of dry white and just enjoy the view .

Very fine, and distinctively yours.

This is a lovely view looking out over the river into the distance with just a splash of red to catch the eye, and the gleaming water just adds to a beautiful painting 😀

Lovely painting Alan. It swings your eye right then left and I love the lovely splash of the red rooftops.

Superb 'sketch' Alan. Lovely colour choices warm & cool and that nice stab of red on the roofs -excellent painting

That's really lovely Alan, a great composition and as Seth say's the red draws the eye in beautifully.

Lovely Alan. You're really getting the hang of this painting lark!! Hehe!

Lovely painting . like the waterlight . Alan

Love this Alan. The patch of gold is so effective.

Lovely oil Alan- like the style and the light you manage to get into the painting and the touch of red.

Wow, thanks everyone. I wasn't expecting this response and wasn't even sure about posting it. Just goes to show how much I know! May contain the elements for a large oil at some stage.

I like the darker greens and tones in this, the light on the water is the more dramatic.

Impact...bags and bags of it! Absolutely stunning, Alan, love the soft smudgie sky above those gorgeous red rooftops [miss those here!] that draw you right into the painting, and then the star of the show...the river! Superb that man!!

Lovely view, Alan. Love the red rooftops.

Lovely sparkle on the water Alan. Super painting!

Thank you all so much for some inspiring comments, glad you liked this one.

I love this Alan. It is beautiful. The composition, colours, marks, dry brush in the mid field. Superb.

Wonderful clear scene Alan, no drizzle and mist here.

Everyone has already said it. Really like this, the touches of red just magic.

Great colour and style.

Oil on board 30 x 40cm painted yesterday. Near Eccleshall down a small lane standing on a narrow rickety one-horse bridge. I was particularly attracted to the reflection of the sky on the river, I did lighten it up a bit to give a bit more impact.
