Like both versions Alan , as the artist if your not happy with it you do need to do something. Both are excellent standalone pieces and both are excellent.

Thanks Paul, the first one doesn’t exist anymore of course!

Like the near monochrome wintery feeling

I like this version, actually I like that lh tree, guides me through the painting

YesI like both versions but really love the touches of Watercolour on the Grey paper, it just brings the drawing alive Alan.

Really like this Alan. Wintry feel to it.

Wrapped up. Hot breath and walking the dog. This is how I feel about this marvelous painting Alan.

Love the variety of tones. Very atmospheric

What I liked about the first one, now gone to its Eternal Reward, was the kink in the path - which is still there. I rather like the left hand tree, though it would have been a more open composition without it; I like a bit of woody complication, though - trees dominating the minor life forms scurrying along beneath them, remotely indifferent to us.

Great sense of distance and coldness.

Then added a few more saplings in the relevant areas. Better, but it didn’t need the L/H tree, too late now! Hope that all makes sense…
