Thanks Paul and Marjorie! My feature looks at the watercolour sketch books of Turner, (almost 300 bequeathed to the Tate), more particularly his style and colours. I’ll look at his oils another day…

My third of three features on famous painters concludes in the July edition of The Artist magazine, where I look at the palette and techniques of this greatest of all painters. This is a small and rapid watercolour sketch based on one of Turner’s sketches, this particular Venice scene doesn’t feature in my article, so I thought I’d post it on the gallery.
