This is great, Alan. Good luck with your entry. Lovely composition, very special with the little houses in the right hand foreground.

Instantly recognisable as yours Alan. Great sparkle, light on the cliffs and love that sweeping curve of the bay. Brilliant.

Gorgeous Alan! and good luck :)

You always achieve such height in your paintings Alan, I can almost feel I'm there standing on the cliff overlooking the view, 😀

Love it. Great viewpoint. I like the way the sunlit sea behind the point of the bay creates a great sense of distance between the cliff and the horizon.

I like the sculptured feel here with the thickly applied paint, giving real substance to the rocky headland.

Love this, Alan. Good luck with your entries this year!

I love the perspective. I nearly always paint from imagination or a lovely memory from sketches. I like the sparkle in the water.

Lovely scene Alan, and I agree the water sparkle is great.

Brilliant colours as always Alan and the 'light' on the horizon is just fabulous, I can see another winning entry here.

You certainly seemed to have achieved that Alan, beautifully painted, best of luck with this entry.

Good luck Alan! No tightness about this, beautiful palette and light.

I love this, Alan. It’s nice sometimes to work from memory/imagination.

This is a sure fired winner Alan! Absolutely stunning!

Stunning light Alan.

Excellent viewpoint Alan, it looks great and I especially like the houses - I'd like to live there!!!! Good luck with all your work at the TAPC.

Wonderful light and depth, a lovely painting, good luck , Alan.

Bordering on abstract Alan, another excellent entry🤢

Another excellent glow, good luck with your entries, an imaginary scene, that I can well connect with.

Alan I think this one outshines all that has gone before of a similar subject. A definite winner!

Once again some really good comments from all of you. Thank you for taking the time, it's always appreciated.

Stunning colours and composition, excellent. Good luck.

This is wonderful, love the colours you have used. Good luck.

You have certainly caught the Morning glow in this Alan.

Love the sparkling sea as already said.

Love the composition, and especially the colours in this Alan. As you say, painting from imagination does allow you to play around more with colours!

Fabulous, Alan, Love your variety of shapes and your superb brushwork.

Beautiful impressionist painting.

Congrats on your letter in The Artist mag. Just spotted it!

Oil on MDF board 20 x 20in. I don’t often paint purely from imagination as I have done here, but it does give you license to more or less do your own thing with colour and layout. Most importantly for me though, is trying to avoid any tight detail as such, and I hope that I’ve managed to achieve that with my tiny figures, cottages and boats. Another entry for this year’s TAPC Open competition.
