This works very well Alan, lovely reflections and those well placed reds which are so important. It’s a coincidence that the subject of the latest challenge set by our little group of four is a New York street scene from a photo which is very similar to your painting.

This is lovely, the light and those red, powerful impact.

This is impressive because of it's simplicity.

I love this, Alan. Quite different, and I can understand why they sold.

Love this Alan, especially the blurred background, reflections and the gorgeous colourful brushstrokes.

You’ve reminded me that I have a half finished street scene to finish Alan. This is excellent, it makes you want to turn your collar up!

So different from your usual Alan but just as impressive.

Interesting for me because of its abstract impressionism which I'm an admirer of Allan. Nicely done.

Great scene Alan...as always less is more! Super reflections!

Simple often works so well - love the modern, semi abstract look to it.

Great painting - like the style.

Wonderful colours, reflections, and atmosphere, Alan.

I love this kind of night city paintings and you have done so well, Alan. It’s simple and exiting at the same time and I feel as if I could walk there.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement, much appreciated. These are simple and rapidly painted, no detail at all, but you do need to get the perspective and scale of the buildings right!

You keep turning out remarkable stuff Alan, this is different to you recent sunny work but very distinctive. Good luck at Patchings.

It has all been said. Terrific !

Superb, love the touches of colour against the darks.

Beautiful scene Alan caught the atmosphere perfect I've tried one or two like this but they were not very good so I didn't post them .nice work Alan.

Oil on Canson board 35 x 35cm. One I completed a short while ago, but I thought it was worth posting as it’s a bit different from my recent sunny Spanish offerings. Just an imaginary busy early morning rush-hour city street scene. I painted a series of six, all of which sold fairly quickly, which given the simplicity of painting these really surprised me! They did create a certain visual impact when framed and displayed as pairs mind you. Currently painting a fairly large and complicated street scene worked up from my sketchbook notes and scribbles – this will be my final entry for this year’s TAPC Open competition (depending how it turns out!). Deadline is a week today so there is still time to give it a shot!
