So used to seeing this in almost photographic form that it took me a while to adjust. I quite like the 'accurate' ones, if they're well done, but the trouble is so many people have a go at doing them - you can end up with a postcard view if you're not careful. This is a welcome change to that approach - and I still recognized the headland, Needles, and lighthouse.

I love it, Alan.

Looks like you've achieved what you set out to do Alan. Nice work.

You have pulled it off, Alan. It’s super.

Works a treat, Alan! SO moody and unusual. love it!

I think you have captured The Needles brilliantly Alan, nice to see the panoramic view 😀

Much prefer this kind of rendition of the scene than the usual photogenic variety Alan, it’s under stated and brill.

You have caught the sun burning off the sea mist beautifully Alan!

Thanks all for some positive comments. I am going to revamp it slightly as I've seen a few areas that I am not happy with

It's a beautiful piece Alan

Really like it Alan.

25 x 60cm oil on board. Based on my own watercolour sketches from my many visits to the Island. I've tried to capture the essence of this great landmark, not the usual sharp and accurate representations that I see so often. I hope that I've pulled this off!
