The Onset of Autumn

I have used Hahnemuhle paper and found it really good. This is a beautiful landscape Alan, and as ever, a superb painting. Love the autumn colours and the way you paint trees.

Another one of your super landscapes Alan!

It's a beautiful landscape Alan. A super watercolour.

Really good landscape - great colours and the use of white highlights.

A superb landscape painting Alan , I can see several different influences in there as it has the touch of some of your favourite artists .

Great to see one in full colour Alan. Yes I use Hahnemühle paper, very well made sketchbooks.

Thanks guys, always appreciate your feedback!

Beautiful Alan Very you and fabulous composition as always ❤️

Love the autumn colours and your well executed economic brushwork

Oh, this is very lovely!

A fab painting, as usual, Alan.

A lovely soft landscape, the colours are beautiful. I like Hahnemuhle paper as well, there seems to be great clarity with the colour - the only negative point is that the paper tears if you use masking fluid or tape. I don't think you're a fan of either, so that won't be of any significance for you!

Lovely autumn landscape.

A fantastic work!

Excellent picture Alan 🙂

I like the natural way you have drawn the viewer in with those landscape lines, lovely landscape Alan.

Such a nicely painted Winter landscape, Alan with a nice mix of soft and hard edges real joy to see

You demonstrate how successful a painting can be, with such a minimum use of colour Alan. Love the softness of the trees.

I've used their rough torchon - it's not all that rough, but it does have a superb texture for dry-brush, while not repelling more fluid washes. I'll try the Harmony as well - one of these days - I'd like to see how the torchon works with a hake first: it's very good with a mop. You're going backwards Alan, we've had Autumn - however, you're clearly not a man to be dictated to by the calendar - and it is a colurful painting for a colourful time of year.

Beautiful watercolor ! I really like your technique.

An absolutely superb piece, Alan. I love your use of lines and your use of shapes to form the trees. Beautifully done!

Sublime Alan.

Delightful painting Alan!

Beautiful landscape Alan, and yes, love the way you paint trees.

Love this Alan - i do love your style- reminds me of Roland Hilder-

A charming, mellow painting!

We’re on a level with the view - I like that.

Very good work Alan, I especially like the trees.

Superb landscape Alan - I love that touch of blue.

So many inspiring techniques, many of which I have no clue about. Awesome painting

Watercolour and gouache in a Hahnemühle Harmony Cold Pressed A4 spiral bound sketchbook. I’ve been testing out this latest range of watercolour papers for an upcoming report. Most impressed with it, and available as a spiral sketchbook, watercolour block or loose sheets!
