Wow, I love this. It's beautiful.

Those colours and shadows are very intriguing, a smashing scene Alan,

I love the reflections from the windows onto the floor and the colours are wonderful

Really like this, Alan - beautiful colours and the black outlines give it a lovely definition.

They all said it much better than I can, Alan. This is gorgeous!

This is very beautiful Alan. I love the harmonious flow of colour and light and those rich shadows. A real masterpiece.

Fantastic use of colour

Fantastic work Alan. It's almost as though the light is shining though stained glass windows - remarkable.

Like the warm and cool contrasts Alan, gives a real atmosphere.

I feel you’ve used a particularly light hand here Alan which is lovely and very effective. I do like these old ruins and ancient buildings and this is a great record of times past.

Terrific work Alan.Lovely blending of colours.

I really love this Alan. Love the colouration and the free approach.

Love the contrasting colours.

Punchy colours!

A superb example of using tones to highlight the light Alan......a beautiful piece. Love the dots and flicky bits of colour, gives it life.

Beautiful blend of colours Alan the viewpoint creates great atmosphere.

It has a 'jazz' feel to it...I think it's the random dots, lines and colours/light on the ground. Very impactful.

Another superb painting Alan - difficult to know where to start. Just great!!

Thanks everyone for your feedback and comments, they’re much appreciated!

I love those colours, Alan. It looks delicately done.

I visited this ruined 12th century monastery several years go, and completed a series of around 20 ink drawings at the scene, and I’ve selected this particular vantage point for my studio oil version. Concentrating on tonal contrast using the shadows to help me here, plus vibrant splashes of colour in the sky. My interpretation of the priory with my usual impressionistic approach. Oil on MDF 20 x 20in.
