Very good, I like the loose style. How did you create the trees please ; were they scratched in or did you overpaint with something opaque?

Excellent scene Alan and beautifully painted.

Thanks guys… hi Andrew, I used a white conte pencil on this occasion, but I often use my fine rigger with gouache! Both do the job reasonably well!

Love the clean simplicity Alan. Great tones

Very wintry scene but there's plenty of warmth in there too, nice contrasts.

Nice temperance felt in this snow scene and likened to a jigsaw effect, nice stark branches and like the gradual altered grey to dark as the shadow on the snow fields resonates with the clouds.

As usual a joy Alan...hope you are not flooded

Super and wintery - I really like the addition of those blues

Wondering if we'll ever see snow again down here - anyway, I can always enjoy your paintings of it. Another good Hahnemühle paper is their rough grain torchon: I have a 12 by 17cm pad of it, which would be very small for you, I think. Worth a try when you next go shopping!

Has that grey day look of snow when the sun is not showing up! Love the gentle composition Alan.

A lovely winter scene, Alan!!

Lovely Alan- a good wintery feel to it!

Lovely winter landscape.

You make it all look so easy Alan. Terrific.

Wonderful Alan.

A lovely painting Alan.

Another lovely snow scene Alan.

This looks so fresh Alan, and the trees pull the whole composition together.

Wow Alan - I can feel the chill - love this style of painting.

Looks beautiful Alan - love your clean washes.

Superb Alan, you do snowy landscapes so well!

Very dramatic Alan. Says it all in carefully chosen simple shapes and dramatic contrasting colour. Love this style.

Love it Alan. Particularly like the large cloud with the ultramarine blue.

Love your loose, expensive brush marks and the variety of shapes Alan.

Beautiful!

Well, we did get one heavy snowfall last month, so I took some inspiration from it! Testing out some Hahnemuhle Harmony watercolour paper for the team, I’m liking it so far. A4 Hahnemuhle cold pressed watercolour block.
