That's a fine building Alan, excellent pen and ink sketch.

Like this sketch a lot and those colour washes are so delicately done

Always liked your sketching style, Alan. I look forward to seeing more.

I like your sketch Alan, and look forward to the feature.

Love this Alan, and very much looking forward to your article too.

I tried pen and wash recently and made a right dogs dinner of it so I'll look forward to your features. This is lovely, just a touch of colour makes such a difference.

Really nce lovely sketch, Alan. The paper looks interesting too.

Love the way you have focused on the roof & its colour & everything fades away from it. Very effective. Is this Normandy?

Really like the pen work on this and the paper. Super sketch.

Lovely idea looking forward to the article, Alan

Thanks guys! Only a sketch so appreciated. Faye, please clarify what you can’t find, I’m confused. Jean, from a visit to Paris some time back.

It a superb sketch Alan and a good lesson on how to achieve your aim with a few well positioned marks.

When we discussed about oils on the forum. It's okay I think I've tackled the cold wax varnish on top of my painting😁

It’s a perfect sketch Alan

I’m working on a few ideas for a two-part feature on pen and wash materials, techniques and exercises to try. I’ll be demonstrating dip-in nib pens, reed pens and a host of other mark-making tools - I’ll also be trying out a variety of interesting drawing papers and surfaces, including tinted papers that may help to give your drawings a lift!
