That's a beautiful long view Alan and a lovely atmosphere with that soft yellow sky . And that blue Foreground shadow gives a lovely harmonious feel to the painting.

Caught that cold, frosty feel so well Alan

You really do know how to paint these lovely winter scenes Alan, the light and shadows through the trees is beautiful.

Brrrr, cold - great painting.

Agree with all superb Alan

Everthing about this painting is spot on. It all tones so well together with superb lighting.

It's all been said. A bright fresh painting.

This mix of cold and warm tones is so well done, as is the linear work, Alan.

Absolutely superb painting Alan, can feel the chill just looking at it.

Lovely winter scene, Alan, very atmospheric, love the cool blues.

Wonderful aerial perspective Alan, you are a master at this! I do like the limited palette.

Very good Alan. The foreground dark trees and hedge push the background back beautifully and I like the brilliance of the bottom LH corner. Sort of view I'd like to try my hand in watercolour.

That really is lovely Alan.very cold .

Beautiful harmony of colour Alan and far away horizon.

This is really beautiful Alan, love the colours.

Love the palette, Alan and the landscape recedes softly -super painting

16 x 20in oil on Frisk board. No snow as yet of course, but I’ve worked from one of numerous quick and simple charcoal sketches drawn last week from around my area. After reading Ken Howard’s article on painting snow scenes in the POL Tips & Techniques section, I was inspired by his choice of colours and simplicity of composition, so gave it a go with my own subject matter, and of course my own take on the colours and subject.
