Ah! Must find the challenge referred to. Good work as always.

Nice view from your patio, Alan. Your reed pen is working well. Like this very much.

Minimalist it, isn't but good it certainly is D

Great minds think alike. The grey of the paper makes a perfect back ground to a snowy scene.

Alan! You mean you weren't prepared to freeze to death in the name of art! What kind of dedication is that? Could have been a new kind of installation - Alan encased in ice. A very nice sketch, with that clever little touch of red. I might do like you, though through the window.

Well thank you Derek, Lew, David, Chris and Marjorie. Just a quickie to show willing but I always enjoy these types of challenges that involve landscapes. The red house is my nearest neighbour on that side. That is the carp pool just coming into view on the left, my next source of reeds!.

Sensible tactic taking a photo. It's far too cold to stand outside. Lovely sketch.

Great work Alan, not that I would expect anything less from you! I see you live in a lovely spot too.

Thanks Gudrun and Margaret, appreciated.

Very nice Alan.

Lovely marks, Alan.

Lovely sketch, Alan. Don’t blame you for not standing outside....photos come in useful.

Super sketch here Alan!

That is a great drawing and view Alan.

Like this Alan! You’ve created some lovely lines and marks with your pen. The addition of the pastel sets it off a treat. I cut myself one and had a go with some Quink ink, made a broad nib, makes lovely splodges and drips!

Gosh, what a lot of comments for a quickie sketch, I don't deserve it but thank you!

Great sketch and really interesting to see what you do with those reed pens. The touch of red just completes it.

That’s very good Alan and you know all little tricks to guide the as that inspired patch of red

Reed pen and a scratching of pastel, Mi Teintes grey paper. 8 x 10in. Just popped out onto the patio and took a photo to work from.
