I really like this Gary, the close up viewpoint and dark tones between the flowers works very well. Is it oil?

This is lovely the way it is. "gilding Lilies" comes to mind whenever I think I need to "keep at" a piece.

Thank you all. Tessa - I thought I'd use up some old Cobra Water mixable oil colours as I planned this to be a quick experimental alla prima painting. I've been using oils a lot for the last couple of years and really struggled with how 'sticky' the Cobra paints were when doing this compared to oils. I used just one large flat for most of the painting and it just got clogged up so quickly.

Hi Marjorie - I always forget that! It's 30 x 24cm :-)

Gary, I also used Cobra (and Artisan) for a few years and found them very sticky at first but later used a mixing medium which did help.
