Thanks again. Sylvia - yes I plan more, they are nice and freeing to do as a change. Owen - it was straight to paint but I sketched in some basic measured lines with thinned paint (head height, width, brow, eye, hairline, nose and mouth lines).. It doesn't look much like me but it looks human(ish) so I'm happy!

I can see you had fun painting this. I like it.

What gets in the way for me is trying to get the likeness. Obviously it’s more important in certain instances but just enjoying the process is also important. I’m going to have to try more to just enjoy the process!

Marjorie - it definitely helped me to just enjoy it by knowing I was just using up paint, didn't have much time and was using cheap paper. If I could somehow transfer that enjoyment to the paintings where I am deliberate and want to create a finished, wonderful piece of art that would be brilliant!
