Beautiful piece of modern art, Fiona!! Fantastic shapes and marks. So much to look at!

I really like that Fiona. Very artistic and modern.

There you go Fiona modern art fron nature, well observed and executed. In my view the introduction of that bit of colour really makes it sing.

Agree with Barry, those little touches of limited colours really bring it to life.

Wonderful tree abstraction Fiona.

Thats a beautiful piece of abstraction Fiona love it

Looks like Follyfoot’s lightning tree. Only the oldies will know what I’m talking about.

Striking work Fiona, I see stick people with ladders climbing the stark tree. Great bold ink work!

Nature influences us all in different ways. My last painting and this one could not be more different but both originated from nature. Keep up the good work.

A beautiful abstract tree, Fiona. Love the interspersed blue and orange. Fabulous.

Love the abstract feel to this Fiona. I love bare trees. They are so expressive.

Agree with all Fiona a beauty

Totally different Fiona, but full of interest.

Now that is an abstract I could really live with Fiona, love the touches and placement of the colours.

I'm not into abstract but I can definitely see the trees in this one Fiona. The little bits of colour are great.

Great study, Fiona, a truly modern take and such a strong image! Those bits of colour are just spot on!

Fabulous....so clever! Reminds me of a contemporary stained glass window!,

Thank you so much everyone for your lovely and encouraging comments. I liked this one, but wasn’t sure it would be other people’s cup of tea. There is no shortage of weird shaped trees on the reserve, all bent and deformed by wind and water. I’ll need to get my skates on to catch a few more before the leaves start to appear. Thank you Again!

Really like this style Fiona. You could paint a wood like this. A row of trees, small bits of colour as here..even a bridge. Seriously, it's good. The coloured ink adds greatly.

Thanks very much Louise. I’ve thought about doing a group of trees, there are some really twisted birch trees, might be able to make something of those...without the bridge though lol. What there is, and might end up being future studies, is the ruins of Second World War buildings. It was the site of a black powder factory....or something like that. Lots of crumbling brick work and rusty windows.

Interesting design and shapes Fiona, abstract I suppose. I like your positive approach. I'll be back on Sunday, things to see to, but its been great! Done dozens of sketches but not many paintings.

Thanks Alan, drop me a line when you’re back!

Wowee wonderful. Really love the shapes and use of colours. Exciting work.

That is truly very good Fiona. The colour splashes really make it stand out !!!

Gudrun and Richard, thank you both very much for your lovely comments. X

20”x8” Indian and coloured ink on watercolour paper. I love the shapes of the bare trees in the woods at the moment, still no sign of green shoots on the branches up here. Some of the older trees, especially the Alders have some peculiar angular shapes.
