You captured the colours well. I spent a lot of time recently trying to paint rust without it looking !RED! So I reckon these metallic "copper" hues are spot on.

Thanks very much everyone for your comments, they are really appreciated. It isn't a large painting, only 8"x4" approx. An unusual subject for me, but I loved the colours.

Collecting the eggs this morning, I noticed the lovely colours on the clip that holds the nest box lid closed. I really admire Avrils beautiful 'rusty' painings, and thought I would have a go and try another 30 min painting. I'm afraid I fall a long way short of reaching Avril's standards but here it is anyway. I think you can tell...just a little bit....that I was in a hurry!!! Lol. Thanks for looking.
