Wow this beautiful Fiona and oil too, love the sky and the touch of red in the foreground, great painting.

Well done Fiona, I didn't realise you painted oils too. You have got a good sense of distance here with the bright, freely painted foreground and the greys in the headland and sea.

I didn't realise you dabbled in oils as well. This is a very attractive and accomplished painting. Looking forward to see more of these.

So atmospheric. Love the red. Makes a great focal point.

You could have pretended you had painted it en plein air: I certainly wouldn't have known any better. Good strong painting in oil and it has the feel of the wind and weather.

Well, this is a good surprise. You said that you were rooting out the oil paints but I didn't realize how accomplished at oils you obviously are. I really wouldn't know where to start. This is a super painting and well done! Did it take you a long time and which medium do you prefer working in?

Many thanks everyone for your lovely positive comments. Hi Louise, excluding priming the canvas about a couple of hours. I'm not sure what the technical term in oils is; but it's wet in wet. I love watercolours and would love to get the hang of them, but I'm not holding my breath on that one! I get the oils out when I fancy a change. Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it.

Super in oils as in watercolor, Fiona! Your spontaneity has carried over very effectively into this oil painting, and the atmosphere is lovely. And I'd say you've already gotten the hang of watercolors and then some!

Yuh at your best agen ---- well done gel

This is a nice atmospheric oil painting Fiona, the touch of red helps draw you into the scene, like this one and a fine piece to add to you portfolio..

Seok, Charles, Graham.....you don't know how much your comments mean. I've said it before about the people on POL; you've given me the motivation to improve my art work and I couldn't have done it without you all. Thank you!!

Fiona I really do like this one - it has everything

This is exceptionally good Fiona especially those foreground grasses. I'll be studying this closely next time I attempt a landscape in oils.

Many thanks Michael, Val....it does encourage me when artists of your ability take the time to comment on one of my pictures.

Well, they said it all, Fiona: this is stunning. Very well painted and I also like the red touch in the foreground. It adds a lot of depth in the landscape. Like it very much!

Many thanks Mia.
