Well if you say they're rubbish who am I, a mere devotee and hapless admirer, to disagree? But I don't think the two I've seen are rubbish at all, and I hope you'll take this further - I want more.

You've done an amazing range of things Fiona in this last year. What will be next I wonder? I like the texture effect in this.

A good stone like effect Fiona. I like it as well !

A medieval feel to this and I like it. Such variation in your works I think is great...variety the spice of life.

That looks great, Fiona. I'm still struggling to master watercolour.

Robert I’m encouraged that you appreciate this technique, as an art form I don’t think it is popular. But when done by the likes of Picasso, Colquhoun, McBryde etc the results are exceptional. I’m a big fan of monoprints. Marjorie, I can’t settle on one thing, I flit from oils, to pen & wash, to printing.......if I could buckle down and concentrate on one medium, I might get reasonable at it! I get an idea and I’ve got to do it....too many ideas! Lol It’s all the fault of my art group tutor, he’s brilliant. Thank you Louise, I wanted the texture to be harsh and solemn, and a little faded, to reflect the situation of the subject. I know they are not pretty or colourful, that isn’t how they were or lived.

Good work Fiona. Different, arty and interesting.

Thank you Andre, it’s a thrill to know that you can see ‘into’ this print. Me too Seth, thank you very much for your comment.

Bet these look really great on a white or black frame with white mount Fiona, really interesting work.

I think this has to be viewed as a stand-alone work Fiona. By that I mean not seen as a a "Fiona" because it's so different to your norm. That way it looks fine to me. Nice work indeed.

I was immediately put in mind of medieval art and scripture, Fiona, with your figure looking a bit like a monk. The Venerable Bede seems to be raising his head. A very effective technique and one that would look great when framed. Really enjoyed this. Brian

Fiona, don't be taking umbrage m'dear! I was referring to George as the dim one. I wouldn't dare imply that - not with those teeth of yours.

Different and interesting Fiona.

I so admire your experimentation and creativity Fiona. And this .

I enjoy seeing your work for the variety and versatility. It always looks so interesting in the materials you used and subjects . I rather envy the fun it looks as if you must be having. That said, I’m drawn toward my chosen medium but may well let rip and dare to be different in the summer...you inspire me. This reminds me of a church cemetery headstone with those wonderful textures and I do love a good cemetery!

I like this one very much Fiona, a softer look to it. Splendid work.

Fiona this is great! One thing I would say, from any experience I've gained, is don't knuckle down at one medium/thing until you've tried them all. I knuckled down to oils way too soon, and ended up studying the drawing part of a degree last year as I felt stale - its so important to keep your mind and ideas open. That said, you could concentrate on one area in big, but continue to use your sketchbooks with all the other ideas that madly go around your head (well, its mad in my head anyway) with all the mediums. I love seeing your work at the moment, its all so fresh and spontaneous and thats definitely how you want to keep it!

Thank you very much John, appreciate your input. Carole thank you, I don’t think it will get to the framing stage but agree about your choice. Thank you Jim, I get what you mean, appreciate your comment.

Thank you Brian. Medieval has been mentioned before, I wonder if it’s the faint outline around the image that triggers that impression. Lol...Marjorie, I know, it’s just me being stupid, as usual! It wasn’t the ‘dim’ reference, it was the being friendly reference that I meant......you might ruin my streetcred with statements like that! Lol Sandra, Sylvia, thank you both very much x

Diana, thank you for your lovely comment, it’s quite thrilling to think that I may have inspired someone to try a different way of working or try a different medium. You must let rip, whatever you do would be wonderful! Thanks very much Alan. Georgina, I appreciate you taking the time to comment and to pass on your experiences, thank you for your encouragement and advice. I’ve left a reply on one of your works.

I just love it, Fiona. It would an idea to frame them next to one another in one big frame....if you know what I mean!

Its a great image Fiona, I looked at this earlier on my mobile, you really need to see it on laptop to get the full effect of the markings and colour, great work.

I really like this too. It's more subdued and muted, but equally effective.

Fiona I like this very much -it gives the appearance of a work on a stone surface - such as a headstone. You certainly are a master (oops sorry -mistress) of so many different mediums.

Ellen, that’s a good idea, thank you. Thanks very much Linda, it’s funny but seeing it on screen is better than in the flesh, must be the back lighting it gets. Thanks Gudrun! Lol....Jill of no trades rather! One or two people have mentioned the look of stone and particularly headstones. Thank you.

Margaret, thank you.

Thought I commented on this, but perhaps not. I really like this yes, medieval style with the Orange tones. Your penchant for exploring different styles and subjects is very commendable.

Thank you Helen, very kind. Many thanks Richard, was it the other one you commented on, I did one similar a few days ago....probably about 20 pages back by now! Thanks again.

Black & orange printing ink on paper. This is the second of four prints I did of this subject but the last one I’m posting, the others are really rubbish.
