Nothing to apologise for - this is a well executed and, dare I say, tasteful study - so if you have other of these sketches then don't hesitate to post them.

There are nudes and....nudes. Nothing wrong with this one, good to see different things.I know I've got some Quink but has t dried up? I'm going to look. It does do interesting things.

Michael, I was as nervous about posting this as I was about the very first painting I put on POL...lol I do have others but....? Thank you. Marjorie look it out and try it on different papers, this is on Arches and I don't know whether it's the size on watercolour paper that makes it behave differently than say, on cartridge paper.

blimey thats a change of direction no offence taken the shading works well excellent Fiona David Harrison

I apologise in advance Fiona for looking at this, lol, but yes I see what you mean about the ink and water.

Err I am not sure what to say Fiona, I thought someone was posting work under your name, I can see what you mean about shading and contours, I have only ever used Quink ink for writing certainly never thought of using it like this well done. And compared to some of the nudes that have been posted, this is tasteful and an exersize in line.

Lol.....Oopps...sorry but thank you for your 'gentlemanly' feedback.....lol

At last a Selfie from across the border! So what's the issue Fiona? This is a smashibg piece of experiment again with Quink and well worth posting.

Derek.....no comment....lol What's the issue? It's not very good...but, it does explain the 'ink' thing.lol

Thank you very much Jenny!!

Nice experiment, Fiona, well done.

No offence at all Fiona, it's very well drawn and beautiful. There are now and then some really poor nudes on the site which are like an insult but this is great. The ink you are using spreads like magic and it leaves a nice soft surface. I would love to see your other nudes too. x

Fiona, please do not misunderstand my comments, I was in no way offended by your sketch, just taken by surprise .

We are turning into a nation of childish prudes we are What We are beautiful Fiona

This is outrageous , what the devil has got into you ? I think it's a great change of direction and it's solid work .....if anyone is offended by this it's lucky they weren't at some of the booze ups I've been at ..... back in the day as they say 😃

Nothing wrong here paint anything you like Fiona its very nice.

No apologies necessary! A demonstration of Quink in skillful way. I love the way it fades into brown. As an aside, it reminds me of a lady called Jenny who used to post the most amazing and powerful Quink and Milton works.

Thank you Cesare, very kind. Satu, many thanks for your comment.....I don't think I dare post any of the others that I've done, they are a little bit more 'revealing', I think that is the right word but tasteful. Malcolm, I know you didn't mean anything by your remark, I think I may have surprised/shocked one or two and I am beginning to regret posting it.lol There's something in what you say Dennis, thank you for your comment. LOL...Dermot....it is outrageous!! Thank you Dennis very much. I remember Jenny's work Gudrun, it was fantastic, I couldn't get anywhere near her results. I think her second name was Johnson or Johnston. Thanks for your comment!

She's in fine form Fiona and so are you! Really like the ink effect.

Thanks very much Carole!

What the hell is there to apologise for, this is tastefully executed and it's a damn good study, in fact better than most I've been subjected to at times on this site. Life study is the fundamental backbone for all art students, and will continue to be one of the more difficult disciplines to master, so NEVER apologise, keep at it and experimenting. A selfie, well, possibly...

Thank you very much for that Alan, I'm thrilled that you think it worthy to make a comment on. I have seen and admired your life studies, so it means a lot. A 'Selfie'? I couldn't possibly say...lol

A lovely study Fiona! The ink certainly gives the contours of the body a softness.

Hi Fiona, an effective image... some nice casual strokes.... Is that a sepia wash or all ink???

Thank you very much Sarah! Hi Guy, thank you for your comment. It's all ink, it's the black Quink ink it just splits into different shades depending on which paper you use it on.

Just a small sketch, which I apologise for in advance, if any offence is taken of the subject matter. I wouldn't normally post any of these sketches that I do but I thought with the ink experiements this would show how just a line of ink and a little water it shows up contours (especially how it splits) and shading without being harsh.
