A lovely little watercolor Fiona, 😀

A lovely watercolour sketch and an interesting history, Fiona.

Thanks very much Linda 🙂 That’s very kind Katy, thank you. You are kind Michael. The top left hand corner where house meets roof, keeps catching my eye, it will have to go! Thank you x

Beautiful. Probably all the better for being “a bit rushed”. As always, less is more.

Nice loose scene Fiona, not sure about the brown line in the foreground.

A lovely watercolour painting Fiona.

Good one - like it Fiona

Absolutely great Fiona, I just love the atmosphere and colours, I think the splatterings in the foreground are really effective, I would just bring the dark bush that is peaking up on that left corner a touch to meet the roof line and loose the corner altogether, but then I just do walls ;)) LOL, nice one Fiona.

A beautiful loose watercolour Fiona, love the mist in the background. Interesting history.

A lovely watercolour with a story, well done, Fiona.

Nice one Fiona, -lovely beaches along there and you've caught this view in essence. Ever get to Kirkmadrine?

Lovely fresh watercolour sketch & so interesting to get the background to it. Wonder if it will form the basis of a picture Fiona? Beautiful place for a picnic so I guess that's why it gets so crowded.

This has such a secretive feel to it, half hidden in the mist. Love how you’ve captured an air of mystery around this Fiona. Beautifully.

Controlled so well with those marks Fiona.

Great plein air watercolour. Simplicity at its best.

Well done Fiona, Lovely watercolour

I think you’re right James, thank you. Thanks Stephen, don’t worry about the brown line, it’s rubbish...as in seaweed, shells etc the usual detritus you get on beaches. Thank you very much Paul! Lol 😂 that explains it Michael, although I think it’s pointing the wrong way to get a signal! Many thanks Heather. Malcolm, thank you for your suggestion, that’s a good option. Anjana, Mia, thank you ladies. We passed Kirkmadrine Willie, we were on our way to the Mull of Galloway. I saw the signs for the Kirkmadrine stones. Thank you for your comment. Brian, I may do a larger painting from this although there are one or two areas I would change. The sea on the left for a start, not enough definition between sky and sea. Thank you very much for your input. Carole I always think you are writing about a someone else’s painting lol you make it sound so wonderful! Thank you! John, Colin, Derek....gentlemen thank you for your very generous comments, much appreciated.

atmospheric lovely

Thank you Ruth, you’re very kind.

Watercolour in sketchbook. Out and about in the Rhins of Galloway today and stopped for a picnic at this lovely bay, a first visit for me. It was very crowded, at least five people including myself and Jules! The cottage is a little wonky, the rain came on so a bit rushed. A favourite place for smugglers to land their bootie....15/- tax on a bushel of salt, 98% on the whole value on a ton of tea! No wonder they tried to avoid the customs and excise crew.
