Beautiful painting Fiona, superb colours.

Beautiful colours and textures Fiona.

So dramatic and so good, Fiona!!

What a fabulous place to live and paint from, I like this very much Fiona

Glorious sky, great painting Fiona.

That's beautiful Fiona 😍

Love how you have portrayed the wild, bleakness of this Fiona.

Impending doom definitely. Really good.

Certainly looks bleak and wild, and that ferocious sky is great. Well done

A beautiful ruggedness to this Fiona.

Dramatic it certainly is… a landmark would have added interest, but if they aren’t there… Good job also on the grasses!

Bleak and wild - great, Fiona

Such a beautiful sky Fiona , a superb painting.

Very good brush work and colour Fiona. As my tutor once said to me, “you’re a painter”.

My word Fiona this IS dramatic. Brilliant

Fabulous Fiona.

Such drama conveyed here. That moody sky is tremendous, Fiona.

That's really beautiful Fiona - it's got such a lot of atmosphere - wonderful.

Love the drama in this painting, you’ve made a simple subject look fabulous! Very impressed!👍

So dramatic Fiona, you have captured such dynamism in this painting.

Love this, full of drama.

That’s a moody old sky Fiona. You’ve caught its ominousness if that’s a word

Such drama. I would be happy to have that hanging on my wall, not so sure that I would like to be there.

Denise, Sarah, Sarah, William, Carole, Diane, Jenny, Martin, Valerie, Nick….. I’m overwhelmed by your kind and positive comments, thank you very much. It’s been painted for about two months, and I was reluctant to post as I thought it was too drab! 😂

Wonderful textures and colours Fiona.

Thank you Sandra!

Great free brush strokes Fiona.

You are creating great atmosphere in all these paintings Fiona.

Just spotted this on the banner- how did I miss it!? What a gem, definitely not too drab Fiona. I love your dramatic use of darker tones in sky and landscape. Superb.

I love this Fiona. There's a real semse of movement created by your lively brushwork. I can almost feel the wind. Subtle use of both cool and warm colours too. Your loose and expressive style is something I'm currently striving for in my own landscapes. We holidayed in the Wigtown / Whithorn area last summer and loved it.

David, Shaun…..thank you both very much. Tessa, I was a bit squeamish about using such heavy tones and colours but I quite liked the result. Trouble is, I can’t remember how I achieved it to do it again! Thanks Tessa. David, thank you so much for your kind words about my painting, and the area. Yes it’s a beautiful place and I wish I were still there! Unfortunately I mostly don’t succeed with the loose and expressive style but it’s fun trying. Thanks again.

12”x10” oil on canvas board. In the ten years living on the edge of Carsegowan Moss, I’ve seen the most fabulous skies……and then, you have the odd one that has a hint of Armageddon!
