As you know I love colour with a capitol C so I really like the addition of the blue ink in this. You've caught the movement of the water and the solidity (is that a real word?!!) of the rocks and produced another fine ink drawing. You are on a roll Fiona :)

I like it too, Fiona. The water has a cool, icy look and I imagine it is quite fresh...

Lovely downward movement of the water, Fiona. I love paintings where you have isolated the particular from the general and found a small area of beauty. I like the contrast of the blue, but don't see why the same colour throughout shouldn't work equally well...It's the linear composition here which is so attractive.

A very effective and eye catching ink drawing Fiona, it's lovely!

Ladies, thank you very much for your lovely comments!

It's lovely! I'm not saying you should not have used blue - because it gives the image a fabulous stark contrast - but I can't help but wonder what the other colour is. Not, I think, black - unless theyve changed the formula - because I don't see the blue/ yellow split that I used to get when I added water to black quink.

Fiona, you seem to have hit on a style which is quickly becoming your own. The blue works for me because the water is, after all, the main protagonist in your sketch, I would say. Quink, what is it? It seems to be having marvelous effects at the moment eh?

No, I like the colour Fiona that's what drew me to your picture.

Fiona this is another lovely addition to your gallery. It really shows the movement of the water so well. Your pen & ink drawings are really attractive.

Thank you Amanda, I might try the picture using just the one colour to see how it looks. It is black 'Quink' ink and I think the image has lost some of the distorted colour combinations through the scanning. Gudrun I do enjoy doing the ink sketches I must admit , I like the messing! Thank you for your comment.

Thank you Carole & Carol, glad you like it!

Ink sketch of a burn and small waterfall along the Clachtoll peat road where I walk. Both inks are Quink ink, I thought I would try the blue ink for the water, but on reflection I think it would have been better using the same colour ink throughout. Jackson's rough watercolour paper.
