Our comments must have crossed John, thank you. After a pause in painting I find it so much easier to get back in the saddle by looking and studying my favourite artists. I agree with the mental attitude getting in the way, I hesitate for days before sticking the brush in the paint! 😂

Lovely hard edges against soft fading out. And the colours are gorgeous, especially in the sky.

12”x10” watercolour on Two Rivers paper. Painted a few weeks ago when struggling for inspiration, a small watercolour based on the work of Aubrey Phillips, another of my favourite watercolour artists. I think it did the trick, there has been a trickle of plein air paintings since……hoorah!
