Oh Fiona you are doing so brilliantly! Absolutely love this! I do love linocut prints, they look simple but I know they are not. You inspire me to try this medium again.

Well Fiona, I can see some improvements on the first attempt, well done for re-working what was already a nice lino cut.

Oh do have a go again Christine, I could do with some inspiration. I've just noticed on this one a few spots of black, it must be ink on the scanner! It does look much sharper with the black ink, I will post that later just for comparison.

Thank you Alan. Glad you like it and thanks for the idea.

The tiny, nearly invisible black dots do not detract. Gentle colour blue makes a gentle image.

Great colour way on this print Fiona. Look forward to seeing more colours and more subjects too.

Many thanks Gudrun and Julie for you support on this new venture....much appreciated.

Great design for material Fiona.

Thank you Carole!

You're making me envious, Fiona, and I'm starting to itch at making a go at this technique if it produces such super stuff each time! It's fabulous. I love the textures and marks that come out so beautifully, and that glorious crown on the hoopoe is so gloriously captured!

Beautiful bird in RL and captured so well here Fiona. Never tried the technique, may do one day.

You certainly don't have any problem with the negative aspect of it Fiona, this is super. I always get mixed up about what to cut out and what to leave :)

Seok you have got to have a go, I just know you will do something fabulous! Thank you very much for your encouragement.

Thank you so much Glennis. Derek, you must have a go, you would do some great abstract shapes, thank you for your comment.<br />Val I do have trouble, I have to really concentrate, which is something I don&#39;t normally do when painting. Thank you X

I was given the idea from another gallery member that the original of this lino cut could be worked up a little more, and quote, "to make every mark count and say something". So I've worked on the half hearted foliage to try and enhance the empty spaces a little more but careful not to overcrowd the whole thing. I've also tried a few prints with a different coloured ink to compare.
