Thank you Helen, that's kind of you. There is quite a lot in this for me, although still using a fairly simple palette; Ultra marine, light red, raw sienna and Indian ink.

No Fiona, it's perfect just the way it is.. I love it, lots of feeling.

Water cascading down, really beautiful Fiona! I always love your palette and don't think it needs more added here.

I like the scant colour at the bottom, great twiggy trees, lovely palette Fiona.

Well drawn with some interesting line work Fiona. You could take it a stage further tonally but I like it as it is, This line and wash work of yours is a really good style, those foreground trees in black ink are spot on, well done. Janet also likes it!.

The ink work on this is very good Fiona. Good texture on those rocks.

Recognized this as yours straight away Fiona. Super combination of soft colours blending to produce an amazing number of shades, and the black ink, and you have achieved real sparkle in the water. You must be very pleased with it

Looks good to me Fiona, reminds me of an older stream painting of yours (that one you'll never forget because I won't let you!)

Really expressive lines Fiona I personally think that a greater depth of tone at the bottom on the foliage would have killed the effect of the falls and rocks, I like pen and wash myself and I think you have got this spot on, a really nice piece of work.

Great work Fiona i like it

It works very well Fiona! a+ from me!

Hi Fiona. Overall, this is a splendid scene, well depicted, vibrant and full of life. Just a couple of points, (well, there's a surprise!!). The river seems to get wider the further away it is, when, of course, it should get slightly more narrow. And I think you are right about the tonal values. In particular, the very dark tones from the rock at the top of the fall through to the branches nearest the viewer are the same throughout. In my opinion, they should vary so that they gradually get darker the nearer they get to the foreground, or if you like, lighter as they move from the foreground into the middle ground. Having said that, I like the piece and it shows how confident you are.

Many thanks Maria, Satu, Carole, Alan and Janet. Also thank you to Stephen, Sharon.....don't remind me Louise I'll have to go back to the therapist... thank you.
Thanks very much Malcolm, Dennis and Sarah!
Hi Lionel, thank you for your feedback always pleased that you take the time to point out my mistakes, which are sometimes not apparent until pointed out by a fresh pair of eyes. In my defence, I was under pressure, I was being watched!!lol.

Lovely study Fiona. Great pen work and free washes. A lot of detail but the simplicity of tones and limited colours make it appealing

Great pen and wash again, Fiona!

Thank you very much Pat and Jennifer for your very kind comments.

Lovely painting Fiona powerful image great subject and well painted

Lovely pen and wash Fiona - I really like you style of pen work.

It is fine as it is Fiona, the eys take you down with the motion of the water and marks and don't notice the tonal thing,

I think it's really lovely Fiona, just how a pen and wash should be.

Lovely Fiona.

Dennis, Dympna, Derek, Christine and Tanusree....thank you very much indeed for your comments.

Thank you Glennis!

Really beautiful, Fiona - done with a super light touch.

Nice lively piece Fiona

I'm a bit late coming to this, everyone has said it all already and I can only concur. This is a fabulous pen and wash Fiona you are a master with the dip pen and ink.

Many thanks Thea, Dermot and Val, really appraciate your comments.

Thanks Gudrun!

Superb work, Fiona! There's something new everytime I look at this. Truly a painting with depth!

Thank you Seok!

Love your technique Fiona - that mix of subtle colour washes balanced with bold black line work. Very successful.

Thank you very much Kevan!

I'm browsing through your previous postings Fiona and I'm enjoying them very much. This one is tremendous.

Gosh, this is an old one George, thank you for looking and your kind words.

Pen & wash sketch 12"x9" I may have added too much to this and also not enough tonal range, especially the foliage at the bottom.
