Becoming Familiar

I do love your watercolour sketches from your sketchbook, Fiona - another really good one!

A knockout double page spread, life in glorious widescreen.

A lovely painting Fiona , I bet it’s a beautiful sight at all times of year.

Love the colours and perspective here. Perfect panorama.

Another lovely rhythmic painting!

Nicely done Fiona 🙂

I guess you were in your previous house for many years Fiona? We moved here 13 years ago and it was the new countryside views that made me want to take up painting again after a long break. Observing changing seasons helped too. It’s strange how it can take a while to get used to your new surroundings, (not to mention house and all that goes with that) but you are obviously getting there if this is anything to go by. Looking forward to more!

Lively and consistently good across both pages

I really like this, Fiona..love a double-page sketchbook landscape..particularly admire how you have rendered the sky.

A very fluid and well painted landscape Fiona and a lovely view you have.

Love your skies, and this is a good one.

Beautiful work as always, and the best way to get to know somewhere is definitely to paint it!

Beautiful

Interesting artwork Fiona, lively sky and foreground marks. Yes time goes very fast!

Wow, can't believe it's 10 months since you moved! Well, this is a gorgeous little painting Fiona. I love that sky especially but all of it is very good.

Lovely and lively sketch, Fiona - love all the tangled hedge!

I always want to take a walk into your sketches Fiona. This is a beaut.

I agree with David - another good one

Lots of work in this rather good sky Fiona, splendid stuff!

Lovely colours and mark making, Fiona - looks good in the wide format.

A lovely sketch, Fiona.

A brilliant blustery sky Fiona and great perspective. I know what you mean about time flying, its two years next week since I moved house and it doesn't seem like two minutes!

Beautifully painted Fiona

Ahh so beautiful Fiona, I just know there yours 🥰

My grateful thanks to every one of you for your kind, and personal words, it’s very uplifting to read your comments. I miss Galloway, especially Bloodnok river and my area of Glenturk, Gaelic for valley of the Boar. I’m sure I will settle eventually and become fond of the area…..🤞if not, Galloway, here I come! 😂

You have certainly produced a lovely image here of your new surroundings Fiona. This is really lively and lovely. I do hope you will be able to settle in time.x

Sketchbook, watercolour and graphite. It’s already ten months since I moved to my present location, how that happened I don’t know, it’s flown by! I have open views to tackle which I’m not too confident about……more practice. Slowly becoming familiar with my surroundings, this is looking over farmland towards the hill road to Strathaven.
