I love the loose style you have used in this watercolour!

Beautifully painted - some great touches Fiona.

Love this Fiona, am liking the square format too. Looks a lovely place.

Well now, I rather like this one Fiona! An excellent sky, and I love the loose indications of buildings on the horizon.

What a lovely place Fiona, painted beautifully.

I like this very much.

I think you’ve used some sort of magic here Fiona! What a lovely result: so much for the eye to wander around.

Beautifully painted, Fiona!

Works very well Fiona. A very interesting place name, almost a Goon show title! Home of Spotty Muldoon?

This is full of atmosphere, Fiona just love the palette and free brush strokes.

A terrific spontaneous look and feel to this super painting Fiona.

Really like this Fiona especially the spectacular sky.

Lovely painting Fiona , and I love the name Crook of Baldoon ,it has got a ring to it just like your painting.

Like this, Fiona, especially the colours and the square format. Great sky.

Thank you very much everyone for your kind and generous words. I thought I had over done it a bit, and bordering mud, I do like one or two bits though. Thanks again x

A magic wand Tessa…..wouldn’t that be a wonderful thing! Lol. Lol…I like that Stephen….spotty Muldoon. I haven’t heard that for ages, my elder brother use to call me that! Lol. Along with ….skinnymalinky long legs, with umbrella feet.

Excellent loose painting, Fiona!

What a great portrayal of a damp, wet British day. Spot on Fiona.

Fantastic colours Fiona and a lovely loose style

Lovely Fiona

I like the way you can look into the distance here, Fiona. The line of houses is perfect.Remind me when your group exhibition is, too.

A lovely watercolour Fiona. The yellow and blue lift it beautifully.

Anne, Carole, Michael, Neil, Heather, Marjorie, George……thanks very much for your encouragement, you’re a lovely lot! Marjorie, the exhibition is booked for the week commencing 22/5 until 28/5 at The Harbour Gallery, Kirkcudbright. It’s our 30th anniversary, we still have a couple of the original members in the group! Will you be over this way?

Really lovely Fiona. Yes the loose style works really well.

Looks good Fiona, the lake and grasses in foreground are excellent.

I just love looking at your work Fiona. I find it interesting and soothing, always.

Fiona, we’re going to stay a couple of nights in Kirkcudbright during that week - haven’t decided which nights yet. We’d love to see your exhibition, will let you know when we’ve booked.

I love this excellent ‘loose’ style of watercolour- really effective Fiona.

David, Jacqueline, Carole, Shaun …….many thanks for leaving such kind comments. Okay Marjorie.

Love the spontaneity in this Fiona. Nicely done.

Stevan, Brian…thank you both very much for your comments.

14”x14” watercolour on Saunders paper. There is an RSPB reserve at the Crook with wetlands and ponds etc adjacent to the Estuary. This is from one of the ponds with part of Wigtown on the hill. A very loose interpretation of the scene on a damp day……nothing new there! I brightened it up a touch with that dash of yellow on the field.
