Well done Fiona, I must admit, the movement you have in this painting reminds me of some of the times I had up in Sutherland in winter when we use to go up there for the walking and climbing, we use to have rest days and go to the coast, well done like it lots. Malcolm Buckley

Wow Fiona, definitely full of energy, you certainly went for it. Not quite sure about the sky - it looks really angry, but the landscape is fabulous, the surf, the mossy rocks, really successful. No wonder it made you feel better (although personally I also liked your previous attempt).

Thank you Malcolm, yes Sutherland is a great place for inspiring landscapes and seascapes.....plenty to choose from. You were brave walking and climbing in the winter, pretty tough.

Sharon, would you believe the day I started painting this scene (the original) was a beautiful sunny day, not a breath of wind, which is most unusual in itself, and I finished up with something completely different. All down to what mood you are in at the moment you put brush to canvas I suppose. Thank you for your comment.

A class act. No problem with an anger kick and using up the paint Fiona. Smashing work. Love it.

I can tell you enjoyed this one - it shows!

Another great response to the scene Fiona i think Alan will be impressed

This one is alive and kicking! Super painting Fiona!!

Well done Fiona your a game girl and the better for it I need to follow your example a bit , great picture.

You certainly let rip with this Fiona, full of life!

Whoosh!! You've just poured all your energy into this one.

Well, I suppose that I had better comment on this highly expressive, or should that be explosive masterpiece! Really enjoyed seeing it, a good example of your ability to experiment and it works for me. Both this scene and yesterday's posting both equally as exciting. A great job done.

Many thanks everyone, I did enjoy this one, it blew the cobwebs away!

Alan, I enjoyed doing this one more than yesterday's.....and dare I say it, I prefer this one, even with the dodgy sky!! Thank you for your help and encouragement.

Wow you certainly went for it Fiona. That is a very powerful sky and with all those energetic brush marks I bet you had to go for a lie down afterwards :)

Well, your going wild has worked brilliantly as by doing that you have completely captured the atmosphere of this remote place. The sweeping brush strokes describe the movement of the water and the shapes of the mountains. I love it.

Totally Different Fiona,like it.

Rock on -Like this very much, good colours and handling

Very dramatic and vibrant, Fiona! You certainly look like you enjoyed yourself!

Very funny Val...yes! I must admit it put a spring in my step getting rid of all the frustration from the day before's painting. Many thanks!

Thank you all very much indeed for your comments, much appreciated.

This is really lovely and energetic Fiona, the Sky has so much 'feeling'. I would love to see a lot more work like this. (Possibly better than my dads...shhhh🙊)

Hi Michelle, thank you very much.........there's no 'possibly' about it..lol I won't tell him if you don't! It's about time he had some competition, don't you think?lol.

Oil on mount board. After my very frustrating and difficult relationship with the painting I posted yesterday....I threw caution to the wind and decided to go wild, so in the style of the master of thick paint, texture and un-nerving skies I used up all my left over paint and did this! It did make me feel better....lol. Good therapy Alan!
