Kept control well Fiona and brought to fruition beautifully. Looking forward with you

Goodness, that was quick Dennis!lol Controlled as well as I'm able, but it looks improved from last weeks attempt...that's something. Thank you very much Dennis!

Looking good Fiona, like the effects on the black vessels

Scrummy oils. I particularly like the black bowl thing on the right with the grapes. I look forward to the explosion next week!?

well look at those ellipses Picasso lovely composition and you have turned up the contrast excellent

A wonderful feeling of volume in the cup and bowls, Fiona. I enjoy lots of colour but a muted piece has its attributes as well.

I really am impressed with this, and all of your still life oils. It's not something I've tried but you have mastered the ellipses and perspective etc so well. Looking forward to the next oil.

Thanks Malcolm, I think this one can be classed as about the first exercise I've near enough finished! Many thanks Gydrun, as long I my head doesn't have an implosion with all the colour!!lol Steady David, I don't want it to go to my head, the fact that I've nearly managed to get an ellipse right.....I did give myself a small indulgence of a pat on the head! Thanks very much for your comment. Many thanks Wib for your comment, I've always been a bit of a sissy where colour is concerned but since doing the black/white neutrals, I'm looking forward to using colour.

Still lifes are not my first choice of subject Carol, I'm only doing them because I go to oil classes...however, each one I do, I seem to enjoy more than the last. Next term we are out in the countryside painting.....as you can imagine, I'm looking forward to that. Thank you very much for your comment.....you should perhaps give still life a go!!lol

It's got a nice light Fiona - and those strokes on the cloth are just you!

Lovely shots of yellow. Love it

Nice one Fiona...

Many thanks Marjorie, Pat and Peter for your comments.

Thanks Helen, he's quite right about it sharpening your observational skills...mine were near enough zero before starting this course, as the terms have progressed I think I've improved.

This is looking good Fiona, I particularly like the shine on the dark bowl and vase, but, being a big fan of colour, I'm looking forward to seeing your next exercise after tuesday's tutorial :).

Mmmmm! The creamy yellow against the blue/grey is lovely Fiona. Looking forward to seeing the next one.

Nice painting Fiona, like that's still life and composition along wth the colours used

Many thanks Val, Sarah, and Graham for your comments.

The restricted colour really creates a striking image Fiona. I love the zing of lemon against the cool greys and the black. You have handled it all very well. Look forward now to seeing next week's explosion of colour.

Very good indeed Fiona , you've handled a difficult subject splendidly

Julie, Dermot....thank you both very much.

19"X16" Oil. Spent Tuesday's oil class adding a bit more to this exercise. I had a further tinker with it yesterday to smarten the odd bit up, it could stand more work but I've had my fill. On to the next one one Tuesday, we've been promised a coulourful still life.....we will go mad I'm sure, as we''ve been starved of colour for most of this term!!!lol
