Wonderful!! Your still life paintings are always superb!!

How interesting and what a great still life.

This is lovely Fiona , it do good the see the different artists you are studying and look up their work.

This is looking really good Fiona - I like what I've seen by the Scottish colourists but must admit I have tended to pay most attention to their landscapes, me being particularly biased in that direction! But their still life work looks wonderful, as does this.!

This is looking like it will turn out really good Fiona. I look forward to seeing it when it is finished.

Beautiful range of colours.

Love a Peploe and you’ve captured his style brilliantly! Looks good as it is but look forward to seeing the finished painting.

Love this Fiona - look forward to more..........

Don't know Peploe, but I like this very much. (I'll have to look him up).

A lovely still life painting Fiona, like the colours of this one

Really like this Fiona.

Certainly coming along very well Fiona. Just love the lemons and the way the composition is coming together with style.

Love this Fiona. You have really accentuated the curvature of the objects in your still life.

Excellent still life Fiona. The colours really highlight the fruit. You certainly seem to be enjoying these in the style of............

Many thanks everyone for your kind and thoughtful words and comments….of which each and every one, gives me the confidence to do better! Have another go Willie, you’ll get it! I can’t do glass…..😂

This has great potential Fiona.

Looks lovely already so look forward seeing the finished painting. 😍

I honestly don’t know the artist but good on you and this is coming along extremely well, I take my hat off to you well done!😁

This is very striking Fiona, I really like the complimentary colours with the hint of a pinkish tone. Beautiful. I haven’t come across this artist so thanks for the info :)

This is lovely, Fiona.

Shaun, Stevan, Faye, William, Carole, Ellen……thank you very much for your encouragement.

This is lovely already, Fiona. I just love these colours together. I really envy you with these art classes!

Thank you Marjorie, I do value your opinion, especially regarding still life subjects. I’ve never enjoyed doing still life work as much as I have these last two terms. I feel I’ve processed so much information studying the artists that Davy has chosen. I know I keep repeating this, but he is such a great tutor, we are very lucky. It’s the 30th anniversary this year since the art class started, this is my 7th year. We are having another exhibition in the harbour gallery Kirkcudbright in May, we had one for the 25th there as well. Thanks again.

Coming along really well Fiona : )

Thank you Diane!

20”x16” oil on Belle Arti canvas board. I’ve been looking forward to this artist since his name was mentioned as one of our subjects. I think it’s his thick, dry brush work that he builds the form of whatever his subject is. He didn’t like oily, slippy paint so only ever used turpentine. In fact he would lay his paints out on paper the night before starting, so the oil in the paint would leach in to the paper to dry them out even more. Still plenty to do.
