Gorgeous watercolour sketch Fiona!

Love the colours in this, Fiona.

A really good wet in wet painting, you are so good at these semi abstract painting Fiona , love the colours. It become very dull here but as yet it’s stayed dry, manage to spend a couple of hours in the garden this morning, getting it ready for winter.

I love how brave you have been with your wet in wet technique and l like the ethereal quality you have portrayed Fiona.

Lovely and simple

Delicious watercolour washes all merging together! This technique is so expressive.

Lovely Autumn colours Fiona. It’s lovely using them at the moment.

Many thanks Sarah, Jenny, Paul, Carole, Heather, Alan, Marjorie for you very kind comments and encouragement.

This is what fascinates me about watercolours Fiona a lovely piece of wet on wet.

So much there even with the abstract style. Love those reds and amber shades.

Love the way the colours have mingled in the wet in wet.

A great sketch, a wonderful sense of immediacy.

Lovely colours and I like the power lines.

I sooo like your work Fiona.

Thank you so much Michael, Chris, Tessa, David, Lewis, Denise, Sylvia for all your positive comments. I think I could go back in and darken the cloud, it has dries paler than I would like. I could also strengthen the graphite marks a little, especially in the foreground….any thoughts?

Love these washes Fiona luscious!

Your talent for colours and just letting "loose" with a no doubt quick sketch is admirable. I would have been "fiddling" trying to mend what wasn't broken. 😀

I like the way the washes, boldly and confidently laid, have merged to create textures and depth. Loads of spontaneity too.

I just love this, Fiona. No more needs to be done, it’s perfect.

Stevan, Carole, Richard, Seok, Ellen many thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. Thank you for your suggestion Michael, I’ve strengthened the graphite marks but left everything else…..a good idea about the puddle, across the bottom or midway?

Fantastic work, how brilliant is this

A good attempt at a loose wet in wet approach Fiona. They are tricky to pull off, I bin quite a lot of mine! A lot of teachers say to let the initial wet wash to dry a little (so the shine starts to go off), then add a stronger mix which (hopefully) will settle with no ‘water marks’. I think there is an element of luck too!

Lovely and loose and love the lines and telegraphs.

Romila thank you very much, glad you like it. Thanks stephen, yes there is a lot of luck involved getting it right, which you have no trouble with. I purposely drop/splash water into the initial wash so I get the water marks, I want it to split and bleed. Thank you Diane x

Thanks Michael, I’ll see what it looks like.

Very spontaneous and loose, just the job.

Once again, many thanks William.

12”x12” sketchbook watercolour and graphite. Quick, loose semi abstract sketch from the kitchen window…..didn’t want to miss the clouds. Dry and bright today, but there is an ominous dark cloud moving towards the barns on the hill. Looked lovely, the red of the barn and the amber of the leaves.
