Birch......is it alive?

Comments

Yes I also love drawing tree trunks, but I can’t compete with this detail or skill! Really excellent work Fiona.

That's fascinating, Fiona...and beautifully drawn. It looks like a Birch tree in trouble, but also has an alien quality. What a great subject to find.

Amazing detail, Fiona.

That is fabulous, Fiona, beautiful detail. I don't have the patience. Jealous of you being out in the country! Hesitant to go down to the caravan in D&G in case we get stranded there.

Its alive alright. I love tree barks. This kept you busy Fiona.

Fantastic detail Fiona. It looks like a landscape map to me, I can see rivers, trees, walls and even a little face in it.

So good and so interesting

Brilliant work Fiona, so detailed, must have taken a long time to do.

My word Fiona this must have taken a great deal of patience as well as a long time to draw. It really is a magnificent drawing and like others have said one can see so many different things including a tiny owl. Well done yet again!!

It’s all been said Fiona. Incredibly, observed details so accurately drawn.

It's so alive, it could probably walk. Great detail Fiona.

Superbly drawn Fiona, the power of graphite!

Lol....thank you all ever so much for encouraging and humouring me with my daft pencil drawing. I don’t actually see anything in these until I’ve finished the whole, then they come alive. As Tessa remarked you can make out small isolated landmarks. Michael, I’ll let you know when they finally arrive, last year the first sighting was the 23rd March. Supper will be ruined by the way!

I see a face Fiona, very much alive, great detail. Tree trunks are lovely to draw .

Aren’t tree trunks wonderful and you’ve made a wonderful job of this one !

Many thanks Carole and Rachel, there is such a lot to see when you look closely.

Lovely pencil drawing, Fiona, with really interesting marks.

Lionel, how lovely to hear from you, I hope you are both keeping in good health. Are you still dabbling in acrylics, I haven’t seen anything on the gallery in a long time. I hope that will change. Thank you very much for dropping in and commenting on my drawing, it’s very much appreciated. Look after yourself.

Looks like one of my legs😂 No seriously it’s a great study of one of my favourite subjects-trees you must have spent hours doing this, wow!

At least a couple of hours William, just occasionally I get the urge to spend more than ten minutes on something! Thank you for your comment.

Pencil drawing. I’m still making regular trips to the Moss reserve.....still awaiting the Ospreys arrival Michael......lots of subjects to draw or paint. I’m the only one down there most of the time so no chance of mixing. Even though I don’t normally have the patience to do anything this detailed, I really enjoy doing these tree trunks.
