A Quiet Place

Comments

Lovely, fresh watercolour.

Lovely fiona. Beautiful.

Excellent work Fiona. Like this a lot.

I love pools and running water too. This is excellent.

Lovely rendition Fiona - love the palette you have used. I live in a very watery part of the world, rivers, canals and pools all over the place! Love them all, not sure I could choose.

This is beautiful Fiona. I find it incredibly relaxing.

I like to watch the sea - but for some reason, I have struggled in recent years with painting it. I do very much like your painting, which reminds me of a marsh not far at all from where I was born (Afton Marsh, for those who know the Isle of Wight).

Beautiful watercolor Fiona, I like storm waves, I like to watch them when able.

Many thanks Stephen, Faye, Brian, Michael, (snap lol) Lewis, Sarah, Carol, Robert, Denise……for your comments and thoughts about your watery favourites. I must add, I like all water……the sea, lochs, rivers, crashing waves, falls, marshes….and I’ve been fortunate enough to live near and experienced most. I think my most memorable experience was seeing Split Rock in Clachtoll where I use to live, disappear under huge waves being sent in by 80 mph westerly winds to shore. Very exhilarating but scary to witness. I think they all have a emotional effect….my quiet place is for chilling.

This has a lovely atmosphere going on, super rendering of those reeds/grasses and a rather good tree… a real gem Fiona.

Really like the 'dash of ink' against the lovely soft colours - very peaceful.

I just love this, Fiona. Everything has worked out perfectly, the washes, choice of colours and the gorgeous little delicate marks of the reeds and grasses. One of your best!

This is really beautiful painting Fiona.

Alan, Hilary, Marjorie, Paul thank you for your lovely positive words, they are very much appreciated.

Lovely and loose watercolour Fiona. I especially like the colours.

This is beautiful, Fiona. No prizes for guessing my favourite water...the Sea!

Another beautiful addition to your great portfolio, Fiona. Well done!

Love the delicate tones against the sharp ink marks Fiona.

It's a beautiful watercolour, Fiona - love the tree, the gentle sunshine and of course the water. I too love to be near water and have just realised most of the paintings in our living-room feature water!

Lovely watercolour. So peaceful and calming.

Beautiful and there's a real sense of place (agree with you about these kind of beauty spots, so peaceful)

Dympna, Thalia, Mia, Bryan, Anne, Christine, Heather, Caroline……I’m very grateful to you all for taking the time to leave your lovely comments and feedback, thank you.

A beautiful place and painting Fiona, I can feel that calm water.

Does look very peaceful Fiona, I like it.

Your watercolours are as beautiful as ever Fiona, love the calmness of this one, would love to be sitting there just daydreaming.

Like the free markings and colour, Fiona

Thank you very much Lesley, Carole, David, Maureen for your generous comments and feedback.

Always admire your trees and grasses Fiona. Lovely gentle palette and reflections in the water. I like streams and pools too and the sea, the sea! Waterfalls...puddles........

Great atmosphere and really excellent detail Fiona. Lovely painting.

Yes, definitely the sea, the sea, the same as yourself, any water! Thank you Diane. Many thanks Shaun.

Love this Fiona, very fresh and loose and I love all the way you have painted the twigs and branches and the distance is just excellent. To me you are at your best when you paint with watercolours but that’s just my opinion and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I have left feedback on another of your watercolours which I think is just so wonderful!!!!❤️😉

Quiet beauty

William, again thank you for your kind and generous words. I’ve left a message on the other watercolour for you. Ceri, many thanks for your lovely comment.

Ah Fiona, this is just lovely. A beautiful, peaceful scene, so well painted!

There's so much magic in you Fiona

Beautiful serene scene well painted

Louise, Dennis, Anne……thank you very much!

Hi Fiona, sorry but I have lost the painting, I should have wrote it down my apologies. Hope you have found it but don’t worry if not.

12”x12” watercolour with a dash of ink. I’m probably not alone in enjoying being by water, my own preferences are small hidden pools, running burns and streams…..what’s yours?
