The Gleams of Gold That Once I Knew....

That's beautiful Fiona, and I love the poetry, is it Robbie?

Beautiful painting, and beautiful words, Fiona!

Thank you very much Linda. No not a Robbie, it was written for me by a lost love. 💗 A few verses of dying love and the like, with hope of renewal as in spring following the dying embers of autumn and the bitter winds of winter. The last verse is ...perhaps a deer that grazes there Will turn the blackened sheaths, And wonder at some glint of fire, He still finds in the leaves. All very soppy! Lol.

A beautiful painting, Fiona. I like the dark trees framing the delicate distant vista.

Such lovely words and a beautiful painting

Just beautiful Fiona, a medium I love using.

Yes Fiona - this really works with the complemetary color scheme as the ink contains some blue/violet hues. The simplifies colours and great design work so well! Guy

Love the painting and the poetry, you are so good at these loose looking paintings.

I find this together with the words extremely moving. Honestly I have tears in my eyes.

Very nice, Fiona.

Very good winter trees Fiona.

Absolutely super work. So well painted.

That's beautiful Fiona, and poetry to affirm.

Super trees Fiona, you’re getting good with that rigger! Nicely painted.

Beautiful painting.

An eye catcher , Fiona < and with mediums that have an especial appeal to me. Like it greatly

I like this, Fiona; the colours and the structure.

I’m very moved by your comments and appreciation of one of my scribbles, I can’t take any credit for the words, I was just the catalyst! I find your praise and support very humbling and I thank you for both. Thank you.

I love everything about this Fiona.

How very romantic Fiona, you heart breaker. Love those golden glints and your wild, fearless brushstrokes.

Just superb Fiona, trees are great and a really super foreground with a limited palette. So skillful and poetry to got with it as well..........very romantic.

Perfect depiction of a beautiful scene Fiona. Love the poetic words also.

A truly beautiful painting we all wish we had the ability to produce. The use of a well chosen limited colour palette works very well

Love the watercolour and ink combination, Fiona, a striking image.

This is a stunner Fiona

Very emotive and beautifully done Fiona, given the verse the painting is like looking at a pathway leading to a distant past lost in the mists of time hidden behind the trees of today, you know me always going off on a tangent, really nice one.

What a lovely poem and painting. I will have to wipe a tear from my eye!

My grateful thanks to you all for your lovely and constructive comments. They are very much appreciated. X

This is beautiful, Fiona, and the poetry and story behind it is so moving.

Thank you Katy, very kind of you.

Lovely composition Fiona and your usual delicate and delightful style, great use of reduced colours.

16”x12” watercolour and Indian ink on Waterford paper. The golden leaves of autumn cling as embers on the tree, Like the dying fires of your sweet love, That once you gave to me.....
