I like the imaginary background Paul, the blue grey sets off the little owl perfectly. But he looks a bit sad….have you seen him again?

A lovely painting - you have captured the detail of the owl so well!!

Beautifully painted owl, Paul!

Always like a good owl Paul!

He’s turned out so well Paul… love owls…

Thank you Marjorie, David, Anne, Heather, and Sylvia for your kind comments. Yes I have seen him several times in the last week. He does have a sad look to him, I say him but could be her, I think it’s because it really is small. He looks a bit shabby but that could be his age and still getting the plumage sorted out.. I’m hoping he manages to feed up a bit before it get cold and finds a secure nesting place.

Lovely painting of owl ,you are lucky to have a owl visit your garden ,we have whats called a little owl living near by ,I like to hear their chattering

A cute little owl Paul.

Lovely mark making for his plummage Paul and those eyes.......

This is excellent, he has a real good look about him.

Nice one Paul.

Thank you Anne , Carole, Val, Denise and Shaun for your very kind comments.

Love the plumage especially Paul and excuse me on this I really do give a hoot! 😁

Awww very cute. Although he looks a little lost. Lovely painting

Thanks Chris and Faye your comments are appreciated. I pretend not to have notice your pun Chris. I do think he looks lost , out in a big scary world and all alone , he’ll I will be feeling sentimental next.

What a lovely painting, I hope the little fellow keeps visiting you!

Those eyes are mesmerising Paul, super owl.

Lovely painting Paul.

A beautiful creature and a lovely painting Dixie.

Beautifully painted, Paul - such expressive eyes, but he does look a little sad.

Thank you Sarah, Fiona , Diane, Tessa and Jenny for you kind comments. I think that the eyes are what give a painting of animals, birds and people living look , they can look flat and vacant and the paint looks flat.

This is beautiful Dixie. So well painted.

Super Paul. Good background with the colour and trees.

Carrie and Richard thank you both for your comments they are appreciated a lot.

Lovely rendition of the detail and wonderful clear washes. Very nicely done, Paul.

Thank you for your appreciated comment Seok.

A 24x32 cm watercolour, of a young tawny owl inspired by a very young tatty looking owl that has visited the garden . I think it’s a late brood owlet as it’s very small for this time of year, it’s feathers don't seem to be fully developed. The background is imaginary and not my garden.
